So, why do we call it “social communications”?
Social communications capture the spirit of traditional forms of communications eg advertising, marketing, and publicity, and then enhances messages using social media, learning and networking platforms. -Charlie-Helen Robinson
Social communications focus on compelling content with visual communications, leading to an understanding of online behaviours and personalities, staying in the news feed, using key words for impact, and being found by search engines. It’s a science based on people.
Social Learning Environments
“By bringing together people who share interests, no matter their location or time zone, social media has the potential to transform the workplace into an environment where learning is as natural as it is powerful.” –Tony Bingham and Marcia Conner, The New Social Learning.

The natural look – our online personal branding and style
People have always said I’m brave with my online foto sharing however it doesn’t bother me to look natural in pictures (no makeup) because that’s who I am – natural! -Charlie-Helen Robinson
What is your online personality? How do you act? Or play out your role?
Who are you? What do you stand for? How does that translate online?
Think about it. We are different people in different situations. How we act with our family (down to earth and natural) is generally different to how we act in a corporate office (straight to business and formal). Do you agree? It has been my experience. So, it should come as no surprise that how we act online may be different yet again. The statement itself, says it the best; ie “act”. -Charlie-Helen Robinson
