you ask, hmmm
it was all a long time ago
I was a different person
but I will lay it bare.
why do we do
why do we stay
what do we crave
why do we care.
the benefit of hindsight
would have reduced pain
but I’m here now
there’s so much to share.
we can’t go back
chapters, lessons
a session or progression
it’s fair.
life’s on the horizon
no, it’s not, it’s right here
I’m giving you answers
because I care.
there were times
best forgotten
but they make me
I could swear.
does history repeat
yes, when we don’t learn
when we accept the burn
get trapped, a snare.
yet every scar’s a map
every bruise a sign
of roads once travelled
through life, ex mine.
some doors closed gently
some were slammed with force
some changed the journey
some changed the course.
we spend years searching
for what was never there
chasing distant echoes
through thinning air.
then one day we notice
the thing we sought the most
was not some destination
but learning to let go.
I don’t claim wisdom
or answers beyond repair
just stories gathered slowly
and a willingness to share.
the past still whispers
but no longer takes the chair
it’s part of the conversation
not the author of the affair.
so ask me what happened
ask me how I got here
I’ll tell you what I can
the rest will disappear.
because life’s not waiting
beyond some distant stair
it’s happening this moment
and I’m already there.
